Application
In the form of a gel, hyaluronic acid is injected into the areas where the most wrinkles and under-eye circles form. It is an absorbable implant that lasts about half a year in the body and the great advantage is that it is non-allergenic. In addition to filling the skin volume and increasing its brightness, it perfectly hydrates the skin, thus acting as a prevention against premature ageing. It is most often applied with a fine cannula so as to reduce the risk of bruising.
Duration of the procedure
The procedure takes a few minutes and is performed under local anaesthesia. The result will last for several years.
Risks
- swelling
- granuloma formation
- hematoma
An atraumatic cannula is used to reduce the risk of hematoma or intra-arterial application.
Further information
Hyaluronic acid is part of our connective tissue and its primary function is to bind water, keeping the skin supple and elastic. Thanks to its moisturizing effects, it is abundantly used in the cosmetic industry.
Hyaluronic acid application is becoming an increasingly popular method for smoothing deeper wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds, forehead wrinkles, wrinkles above the upper lip, or to reinforce the contour of the upper lip, or lip augmentation, or non-surgical lifting of the corners of the lips. Its latest use is aimed at removing circles under the eyes.
