TREATMENT DURATION
The treatment takes a few minutes. The effect of the therapy starts to develop gradually within 48 – 72 hours after the treatment and develops fully within 14 days. The duration of the developed effect is individual, after the first application approximately 3 months. Repeated applications prolong the effect to 9 months or more.
OTHER INFORMATION
Botulinum toxin is produced by bacterium Clostridium botulinum which is injected into the hyperactive mimic muscles. It prevents the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from axon endings at the neuromuscular junction and thus causes flaccid paralysis (not loss of sensitivity above treated area) of the muscles responsible for creation of wrinkles. The wrinkles gradually become smoother or disappear completely. You can find more about botox in our blog: BOTULINUM TOXIN IN DERMATOLOGY.
