Reduction of the breast areolae

Characteristics

Large breast areolae in women are genetically determined (they are congenital) or are the result of their stretching as part of age-related changes in the breasts. Aesthetically, smaller areolae are a positive criterion.

What can you expect after surgery ?

Plastic surgery of large breast areolae (areolae) for the purpose of their reduction consists of removal of excess pigmented skin and subsequent suturing around the perimeter of the breast areola, so that the scar obtains its discreet location on the border of the breast areola.

Possible complications

Postoperatively present bruising, swelling, feeling of tension

Recovery

No heavy lifting, no arm lifting, 3 days bed rest, wearing a compression bra, full physical activity after 2 weeks.
