EPICUTANEOUS TESTS
Basic information:
As part of the diagnosis of skin diseases and the identification of their causes, we also offer a special examination called patch tests. These tests are used to demonstrate delayed allergic reactions. They are indicated for certain skin conditions, such as contact allergic dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, and other types of eczema and dermatitis where we cannot exclude contact allergy.
The principle of this examination is to induce a miniature reaction by applying an allergen to undamaged skin.
Application
Usually, epicutaneous testing is performed on the skin of the back, where special patches containing individual allergens are applied; these patches are left on the patient for the following days. The result is read at 48 and 72 hours. We test a routine European kit containing 30 of the most common and potent allergens.Inquire at the reception: 0905 244 577
