    WEIGHT REDUCTION WITH SEMAGLUTIDE

    WEIGHT REDUCTION WITH SEMAGLUTIDE

At Esthetic Clinic, we offer a professional and modern approach to the treatment of overweight and obesity using semaglutide – an active substance designed for weight management in appropriately indicated patients. Treatment is always individually guided, under medical supervision, with an emphasis on safety, long-term sustainability of results and overall patient health.

WHAT DRUGS ARE USED TO TREAT WEIGHT LOSS

Nowadays, several modern drugs are used in weight reduction that affect appetite, satiety and metabolism.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a modern new-generation drug that acts on two hormones – GLP-1 and GIP. It significantly reduces appetite, increases satiety, improves glucose metabolism and is administered 1x weekly. In clinical trials, it achieves the highest weight loss, well over 20%.

Saxenda (liraglutide) is a GLP-1 analogue designed directly for weight loss. It regulates hunger, slows gastric emptying and is administered daily by injection. It is a proven and safe choice for patients who want gradual and controlled weight loss.

Ozempic (semaglutide) is primarily a treatment for type 2 diabetes, but in practice it is often used for weight reduction. It has a significant effect on weight loss and is administered 1× weekly.

Wegovy (semaglutide) is a modern form of semaglutide approved directly for weight loss. It is one of the most commonly used weight loss therapies and is characterized by its high efficacy when administered 1× weekly.

Mysimba (naltrexone + bupropion) acts centrally to regulate appetite, affects the reward centre in the brain and may be particularly useful in patients with emotional eating. It represents an alternative for patients who cannot take GLP-1 analogues.

Orlistat (Xenical) reduces the absorption of fats in the intestine. This is an older type of treatment with lower efficacy compared to modern drugs, so it is now used more as an adjunctive option.

FOR WHOM THE TREATMENT IS SUITABLE

Treatment with semaglutide may be appropriate for patients who are overweight or obese and have struggled with weight loss for a long time. Often these are people who have repeatedly experienced the yo-yo effect, need expert guidance in weight loss, or want to reduce the health risks associated with being overweight.

    – overweight or obese
    – long-term weight loss difficulties
    – recurrent yo-yo effect
    – need for professional guidance
    – desire to reduce health risks associated with weight gain

Treatment is always indicated after a medical consultation and an assessment of the patient’s overall health.

    HOW SEMAGLUTIDE WORKS

Semaglutide mimics the action of the hormone GLP-1 and helps regulate food intake. It works by reducing hunger, increasing satiety and satiety, improving control of eating and leading to a reduction in energy intake.

    – reduces hunger
    – increases satiety
    – improves eating control
    – leads to lower energy intake

In practice, this means that patients often report less cravings for food and better control over their eating.

    WHAT RESULTS CAN BE EXPECTED

According to data presented in clinical trials, patients taking semaglutide achieve significant weight loss. The effect develops gradually and can be very pronounced with long-term treatment. The data presented show an average weight loss of up to around 21 % in the groups studied.

It is also important that weight loss mainly involves the loss of adipose tissue, while muscle function is preserved. The presentation states that approximately 84% of weight loss comes from adipose tissue.

HOW THE TREATMENT IS CARRIED OUT

The treatment is in the form of subcutaneous application 1 time a week using a pre-filled pen. The dose is increased gradually to make the treatment as well tolerated as possible. Dose escalation occurs in steps from lower doses to a maintenance dose according to the recommended schedule.

At the Esthetic Clinic, we emphasize the initial examination, patient education, proper dosage adjustment, control of treatment tolerance, and ongoing monitoring of results.

    – Initial examination and assessment of treatment appropriateness
    – Patient education
    – Correct dosage setting
    – Monitoring of treatment tolerance
    – Ongoing monitoring of results

    POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Most often, gastrointestinal discomfort, especially nausea, a feeling of fullness, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, occurs at the beginning of treatment. These problems are often transient and can be significantly alleviated with the right regimen.

    – nausea
    – feeling full
    – vomiting
    – diarrhea
    – constipation

Patients are advised to drink plenty of water, eat smaller portions, eat more slowly and frequently, avoid heavy, fatty and fried foods, and limit very spicy foods and alcohol.

TREATMENT IS NOT JUST ABOUT WEIGHT

Obesity is not just an aesthetic problem. It is associated with a number of health risks and significantly affects quality of life. Semaglutide also has relevance in the broader context of health, including data on cardiovascular benefit in appropriately selected patients.

Therefore, our goal is not just the number on the scale, but also the overall improvement in health, lifestyle and long-term sustainability of results.

    – improving metabolic health
    – improving lifestyle
    – promoting long-term sustainability of outcomes
    – improving patient quality of life

AESTHETIC CHANGES AFTER WEIGHT LOSS ON THE FACE AND BODY

With significant weight loss, changes in facial appearance and skin quality may also occur. The most common are deflation of the middle third of the face, sunken cheeks, accentuation of bony contours, soft tissue loss or a mismatch between skin quality and loss of subcutaneous volume.

At the Esthetic Clinic, we can address these changes with an individually selected aesthetic treatment plan and instrumental treatments.

    – Genesis (laser) – improving skin quality and elasticity
    – VS (IPL / BBL / vascular treatments) – unifying skin tone
    – RV (revitalization / skinboosters) – hydration and dermal renewal
    – LD (lifting treatments) – firming contours
    – Profhilo – bioremodeling skin and improve elasticity
    – Jalupro – amino acid revitalization and regeneration of the dermis
    – Sculptra – collagen stimulation and gradual volume restoration
    – KH (hyaluronic acid) – volume replenishment
    – BTX (botulinum toxin) – wrinkle reduction
    – polynucleotides (Rejuran, Vitaran)

The goal is not only to lose weight, but also to look fresh, natural and harmonious.
