This syndrome causes pain, numbness and weakness in the hand, especially in the thumb, index and middle fingers. Often there is also hand trembling and tingling at night.  \n<h2>Description of the procedure:<\/h2>\nBefore the procedure, an examination, often including ultrasound or electromyography, is performed to confirm the diagnosis.The patient is given local anaesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision on the wrist to gain access to the carpal tunnel. After exposing the tunnel, the surgeon cuts the transverse ligament of the wrist, which puts pressure on the median nerve. This creates more space for the nerve, which relieves symptoms.Once the procedure is complete, the surgeon closes the incision by suturing the surgical wound.\n\n\n\n<h2>After surgery:<\/h2>\nShortly after surgery, the patient may feel pain and there may be swelling and bruising at the site of surgery. To relieve pain, it helps to raise the operated arm up, and painkillers are also a solution. After surgery, it is important to follow rehabilitation exercises and recovery instructions.
